Shamanic Healing

1.5 hrs ~ with Fiona – €85 – €100 (inc. tax) sliding scale

Sometimes a client will know exactly what they are looking for in a session. Other times they just will feel they need to explore what is moving within them.  The client will share what has motivated them to book a session and as this unfolds an intention for a journey will be set.  The Shamanic practitioner will journey for the client and interact with their spirit guides to bring back relevant information or healing. From a Shamanic perspective we look at the areas of power loss, soul loss, problem solving and spiritual intrusion which lead to illness or dis-ease.  This can manifest on an emotional, physical or mental level.

Power loss

When a person loses connection to their power in the form of their power animal or spirit guides, they lose that connection to their spiritual essence.  Some symptoms that are associated with this are chronic illness, depression, suicidal thoughts.

Soul loss

Soul loss can be experienced when a person experiences an emotional trauma or physical trauma where life can be threatened.  As an act of self preservation, the soul will flee the body to survive the experience.  Common presentations for soul loss are abuse (sexual, emotional or physical), death of a loved one, an accident, surgery, addiction, a frightful experience, conflicts.

Spiritual Intrusion

Often any of the areas of soul loss or power loss can result in a spiritual intrusion.  When there is a vulnerability in the body and a void of energy, it will be filled by another energy.  Spiritual intrusions can come from negative thought forms.  Sandra Ingerman (American Shamanic practitioner and author) articulates it beautifully, “..Spiritual intrusions come from negative thought forms. In indigenous cultures people understand the difference between expressing energy and sending energy. In the West we often do not understand the difference.  It is important for us to express our anger, frustration, sadness, etc. But we often send these energies to ourselves, others, and into the environment like a psychic arrow. And these energies can create what shamans call spiritual intrusions..” There are also times when a spirit can get confused at death, due to a sudden or traumatic death and remain caught in this dimension, what is referred to as the middle world.  A spirit may attach to or enter a person who is missing their vital essence often being a familiar loved one. When a spiritual intrusion presents, the Shamanic practitioner will perform an extraction with the help of spirit guides.  This is done in a variety of ways, sometimes with often hands placed on the area of the body and using the breath to extract the energy.

Ancestral Work

Our ancestors are revered and seen as very important from a shamanic perspective. They hold a lot of wisdom and they made a lot of sacrifices to pave the way for us to follow. As humans we have gifts to pass on, but also challenges and trauma occur in our lives, these impact the generations to follow. We can have individual/family trauma and collective generational trauma. Very often ancestral themes will come up in any shamanic session without booking a specific session to look at ancestral work. However, some people are acutely aware that they have patterns that are the family’s ancestral traumas that need to be worked with. Very often it is the ‘difficult or outcast’ family member who may be carrying this wound. We are influenced positively and ‘negatively’ from our ancestors. We can look at this as our blessings and our burdens, however our burdens are very often our blessings and our greatest teachers. Witnessing and bringing awareness to a trauma and then healing it, not only is beneficial for ourselves, but also for our family and those after us. It is how we learn to evolve. We are the ancestors of tomorrow.

Shamanic Counselling

2hrs ~ with Fiona – €90 – €100 (inc. tax) sliding scale

The client, with the assistance of the shamanic counsellor, frames the intention for the journey.  The client will listen to drumming with ear phones and narrate out loud their journey which is recorded.  We will listen back immediately afterwards to the recording and finish up with discussion which integrates the experience.

This is a very powerful and empowering way to work.  Listening to ourselves gives us the ability to be observer and gives a deeper insight into experience and teachings and healings that can be retrieved from a session.  We find ourselves being more compassionate to ourselves when observing ourselves in this way.  The counsellor assists by being witness and supporting and containing the experience in a safe manner.  The client gets a recording of the whole session which includes intention framing and integration.

Transpersonal One to One session

1hr ~ with Fiona – €65 – €75 (inc. tax) sliding scale

Often after having deep transformative transpersonal experiences challenging material can come to light that we don’t have a language for.  Here, a transpersonal one-to-one session is beneficial.  During the session the client can talk or share and experience what is moving through them.  The Transpersonal Therapist witnesses and holds a space for the client while giving a framework and map of consciousness to the experience if required.

As a Transpersonal Therapist you track a client’s process but do not lead it.  Central to this work is empowerment of the individual as they hold all the wisdom, healing and answers within.

Shamanic Community

If you are looking to connect with like minded people you may enjoy coming to some of the community events that happen during the month.

Shamanic Drumming Circle

Shamanic Drumming Circle:
The First TUESDAY of every month: 7 – 9.30pm | The Gallery, Roundwood Parish Hall, A98 K7K6, Co. Wicklow | €7

A Shamanic Drumming Circle is a place to come with friends, catch up over a cuppa and then connect in an authentic way. This is a particular type of drumming, using a shamanic drum. A steady beat, 4-7 beats per second, will induce theta brain waves to enable us to journey into non ordinary states to retrieve healing, insights and wisdom for ourselves and our community. All welcome, no experience in shamanic journeying or drumming is necessary. If you have a shamanic drum I welcome you to bring it along. You would need to bring a pillow and blanket. This is a non profit event, costs are to cover venue and refreshments.

Ecstatic Journey

Ecstatic Journey

(going forward the third Thursday of some months)

Ecstatic Journey ~ What to expect

We gather in circle at 7pm to centre ourselves and connect in with each other.  We do a round of introductions, our name, how we are (as much or as little as you want to share). I will explain the process a little and then I connect in to formally open sacred space.  The Ecstatic Journey starts with music for the movement (dance) section.  This lasts about 20 minutes.  For the breathing section, with the music still playing you are invited to lie down and connect with your breath, this lasts about 5 minutes. The music stops and I will begin drumming and we will drop into a Shamanic Journey.  At the end we will come back and sit in circle and share our experiences to help ground and integrate them.

Nervous about dancing?  I use the words movement to music as opposed to dace because very often I hear, “I am not able to dance”, “I’m too self conscious” or “I’m not good at dancing”.  The movement/dance part can be sitting on the floor and feeling the vibration of the music while stretching.  It can be swaying gently, being still, jumping or vigorously shaking, playing with rhythm and timing, skipping, dancing your favourite moves.  It is not meant to look any particular way.  We are encouraged to allow the music, your body and emotions to guide how you move.  The room is darkened, people are drawn to close their eyes and drop into their own experience.  It is a profound experience when we get out of our head and into our body and give the thoughts and emotions their time to move and be, in a safe space of compassion and non judgement.
